Excellence is not an Act…It is a Habit

Spring is just around the corner and the Giant’s Baseball Season is about to begin.  The Vista Grande TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) is hoping the Giant’s Baseball Season is as good as our season has been so far this school year.  If you haven’t heard, we also created a new team this year called our Green Team.  These are students in the third, fourth and fifth grades that are helping us save the environment by recycling and reusing.  Stop by our lunchroom and watch our students use red trays with biodegradable dishes for their lunches.  They also recycle plastic, bottles, cans, milk cartons and papers.  With the help of a former Vista Grande Eagle Scout, the Green Team with parental volunteer support will be building a garden for everyone to enjoy.  It is all very exciting.

Thank you for your continued support of our school.  We are so fortunate to have such an active parent group, great students and wonderful teachers.  Enjoy the Spring.

Announcing, Vista Grande is now an affiliate of the San Ramon Valley Ed Foundation!  Parents Investment in Education, PIE invites Vista Grande parents to learn more about how this community foundation supports education throughout the San Ramon School District toward 4 major Causes: Classrooms of the Future, STEM, Literacy and Professional Development. Last year, VG received a $10,000 grant from the SRVEF for our audio system in the MRP.  This year, four of our teachers received technology grants.  By joining, our school will qualify for $4000 in matching grants toward our 1:1 device initiative for the fall.

Families have the opportunity to support the Foundation during their annual Friends of the Foundation, which is going on now- see the attached flyer.  If you join, a portion of your membership comes back directly to Vista Grande, and the rest helps fund classrooms of the future, such as the matching grant program.   The school with the most sign-ups will win 10 iPads!
