Description of Para-Professional Fund - Traditional Program (PIE)

PIE is the Traditional Program’s Parent Investment in Education. It is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to raising funds to help maintain and enhance the quality of education for our children in the Traditional Program at Vista Grande Elementary School. These funds are raised through the collaboration of parents, educators, the school’s Site Council, and the community and are used solely to pay the salaries for classroom paraprofessionals

There are three major ways in which PIE raises money - family donations, fundraiser events, and “free money” programs – with family donations comprising the most significant portion of the funds. Your $375 donation per child generates roughly half of our budget. So, when you pay your donation to PIE you are helping to keep your child’s paraprofessional in their classroom. Our paraprofessionals play an integral role in your child's academic and social success, whether sharing responsibilities with your child's teacher or when tutoring them one-on-one. Their involvement in the classroom further gives teachers the bandwidth to provide individualized, level-appropriate work and attention to those who fall on either side of the academic/social spectrum. Without our Para-professionals, Vista Grande would not be the high-achieving school that it is now.

Thank you for supporting PIE with your family donation and making up the difference in our budget by supporting PIE Fundraisers throughout the year such as: Fall Fundraiser, Turkey Trot, Read-A-Thon, and Camp Vista Grande. PIE also strives to raise “free money“through programs and community events such eScrip, Movie Nights, Family Meal Night, and company matching. Please help us by participating at, and talking to your employer about whether they match donations to an educational non-profit.

Employee Gifts Matching

Corporate Gift matching is a program where companies match donations made by their employers to non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.  Vista Grande PIE is a non-profit organization.  Many companies encourage charitable giving and matching may be part of your employee benefits.  If you have made a donation to PIE, your company may match your donation to PIE dollar-for-dollar. If everyone who is eligible for matching requested one from his or her employer, PIE would be able to receive over $15,000 in free money from corporate matching this year.

If you have any questions or would like to know if your company matches, please do not hesitate to contact Chuck Marshall
