Technology

Computer Access at Vista Grande

Technology at Vista Grande continues to expand within our school and the instructional curriculum.  During the past two years, due to the generosity of our Vista Grande families, we have been able to established one to one chromebook ratio for all student in 2nd through 5th grades. Having the chromebooks readily available in the classroom has enabled our instructional staff to commit additional time for technology use with the ease of access.

 

We continue to provide technology instruction to all grade levels throughout the school year focusing on basic computer skills, the use of Google Apps for Education, as well as adapting technology as it pertains to Common Core Standards, and grade level requirements such as CAASPP testing.

 

We will soon have a mobile Apple iPad cart that will enable any class that requests it, to have one to one iPads for instruction use.  This is directed for the lower grade levels, TK through 1st, but it can be used by any grade level.

 

We also continue to update our teacher’s technology requirements with new laptops.  We have completed replacing 25% of our aging teacher laptops with new ones.

 

Our goal at Vista Grande is to insure that our student’s technology education will prepare them to meet future technological challenges and requirements.
